” Ramona was thorough and spent a lot of time talking me through different ways I could combat redness and the usual blemishes that I suffer with. She was very knowledgable and since taking her advice about using an SPF on my skin and the sorts of products I should be using, I have seen a noticeable difference. A lovely clinic which is based inside a health centre. Super professional and clean.” ( Via Google reviews)

Dr. Mary Ward

Five Minutes with Mary Ward, Facial Aesthetics

1. Where did you start your facial aesthetics career?

I qualified as a dentist from UCC in 2009 and went to work in London for 7 years. There I gained great experience working as a dental associate in general practice and also as an SHO in the oral and maxillofacial departments of 3 busy London hospitals.

I first trained in facial aesthetics with an academy on Harley Street in 2012. In more recent years I have expanded my skillset and trained in more advanced procedures with Dr Bob Khanna, Dr Rikin Parekh and the OFAA academy.

I like to attend at least one course and conference every year where I keep up to date with new products and developments.

2. What would you say is your Facial aesthetics philosophy?

I aim to help my clients achieve results that are subtle and natural yet giving them a fresher and more revitalised appearance.

From talking with my patients ,I get to know their personality, their lifestyle and expectations and help them understand how we can achieve results in a way that complements and enhances their natural features but is individual to them also.

3. What do you enjoy most about Facial aesthetics?

I really enjoy carrying out the procedures and seeing the reaction of my clients afterwards. It is a very exciting and rewarding area as it evolves and develops so much every year. There is a wide range of treatments and products available now for our clients to help us resolve issues that were previously bothering them. I also love attending training courses and conferences where I get to meet other practitioners and learn new skills.

4. How would your co-workers describe you?

I think they would say that I am professional and hard-working, empathetic and kind. I like to be well prepared for all my clinics and so I’m constantly in touch with my team to ensure we are ready for the week ahead.

5. HHow do you spend your spare time?

I have recently started cooking and baking again. I enjoy getting out and about meeting friends and going on city breaks. After work I try to do some exercise and go to the gym.

6. What is the last thing you have done to improve your skills/knowledge?

I regularly watch webinars given by training academies and expert practitioners in my spare time. My last training course was in February 2020 at the Dr Bob Khanna training institute in the UK. It was for a new skin product that I hope to introduce to the clinic. I read the monthly aesthetic journals to which I subscribe and find them really good for tips and information on new treatments and products.
